How to get started
We know that getting started with counseling can be a hard first step. You have already taken the most important step, searching for a solution. We are glad you are here and that’s why we want to make the rest of the process as simple as possible.
How to get started:
- Schedule your appointment: Please click here to access our Client Portal. The Client Portal will allow you to view availability each week and find an open time that fits your schedule.
- Submit paperwork: Once you have your first visit scheduled, we will email you the necessary paperwork to complete prior to your appointment. Simply open the form, complete the required fields, and submit.
- Ask questions: We are here to help! Feel free to reach out or call 651-333-0653 if you have any further questions about your visit or if you run into any technical difficulties.
- Hang out: Once your appointment is set and all your paperwork is submitted, you are ready for your first session. We are located at 18598 Elk River Trail Farmington, MN 55024. Enter through the door on the front porch. Closest to the parking lot. You can then use the iPad to notify your therapist you have arrived.

What to expect
If you are new to counseling, you may be feeling anxious about your first appointment. Here is what to expect.
- Your first visit: During your first visit, your counselor’s primary goal will be to gather information in order to provide proper treatment planning. You are also encouraged to ask any questions you may have. We believe that establishing and developing a good foundation and relationship will create a comfortable, safe environment and will ensure productivity throughout each session.
- Future sessions: At the completion of your first session you will have the opportunity to work with your counselor to create a plan for future sessions, including goal setting, appointment scheduling, and frequency of appointments.

Pure Potential Counseling also accepts private pay agreements. Please contact us directly if you are not covered by one of the carriers listed above, or would prefer not to be billed through your insurance.
